House for Daydreamers

Planning

After I decided to take all the walls off, the whole space naturally became a long cuboid, with a long glass window. Look at the picture below, you can see two floor plans. When you enter from the door, you'd first get into the gallery area, as my clients are two artists, as a couple. Then you walk through the living, kitchen, dining spaces. As now we don't have any wall to seperate every area, then how do we define the function of the space? The answer is by the objects in the space. I think life can be and should be easy. When people talk about everyone needs privacy, but do we really need those walls to give ourselves privacy? I think "respect", is the most important thing, and that's what makes us "human". We should be able to respect each other's privacy by feeling, understading each other. It's not a dream house, nor a house for people who loves to dream. It's a hose for people who DARE TO DREAM.

Concept : Is "Convenience" really that good? That is my first question for myself. I'd like to talk about how I feel about "Convenience". Time pasts, and our lives are getting more and more convenient by the progressing of technologies. But what if, that's also what makes us stop thinking? Maybe we are all too dependent on these convenient things and forget about the real wonderful things in life, is that you have to "exprerience", to "feel", to "think" about them.

Design : First I devided every function into seperate spaces, which means you do only one thing in one single space. My purpose was to emphasize the thing that you're doing. When you focus on one thing, you get to feel it more and think more. Instead of living on careless life. So as you can see on the next picture, the space was built up by sqares.

But then I thought about: why not take those walls off?
